Just tidying through my office and I've discovered a letter from Lord Tebbit addressed to my father Dated August 1993. Obviously my father wasn't that keen on the E.U .

Dear Mr Rowe

Thank you for your letter of 1 August.

The politicians who would give away their power and our right to govern ourselves are like the pre-war appeasers - defeatists who do not trust the British people to defend themselves or to manage their own affairs.

By appeasement and defeatism they stumble deeper and deeper into the morass.
