is the goverment letting utility and otherthings we have to use get away with massive price increases to falsely make it look as the country is in growth .if so its just another spin to make us all think we are on the rd to recoverery .

Assuming I've correctly interpreted your stream of conciousness, we no longer have any control over the utilities we use. You can thank Gordon Brown for that. When they were originally sold off the government maintained 'golden shares' in them meaning the government could control their pricing and actions to some degree. GB sold these golden shares off for next to nothing so now the utilities like EDF can charge UK customers what they like to fund the lower prices the French pay in France as the French government still control them, not having had a tt like GB at the reins.

HTH.

greed lol. it seems every wants bigger profits now and these increases do add to there profits. instead of smaller profite over longer time .bigger price hicks just put pressure on the works to pay there bills . all i can see at the moment is workers losing there jobs . hours cut to keep they jobs . no wage rises to keep up with the higher bills and inflation . and theres no work out there for self employed people . and the goverment is encouraging to go self employed and start up there own businesses.

You all ridicule gary for his spelling but actually his posts generally logically structured arguments leading to reasonable questions. Much better than some contributors.

It's not logical. Rising utility bills are not necessarily conducive to a better rate of growth, in fact the opposite is more likely to be true. Also, the government don't dictate utility prices.

It's flawed throughout.
