Thats a fair point, but the report of the police management of the event was out this week (cant find the link at the moment) but I am told that the police management left something to be desired, many people got hurt and property damaged but no one could be held accountable, despite the fact that this was a huge hockey game, with many thousands of people in a single area on Vancouver, transit kept bringing folks into the busiest areas despite the potential issues this could precipitate particularly whilst the canuks were loosing!, the police seemed to be sitting on their hands for several hours whilst the riot escalated.

When discussing the recent UK riots it is not unusual to hear that the UK is broken and many folks are escaping to utopian places like Canada.

Edit to add link to this weeks report story: reports

You say that as though it was a common occurrence, and the police should know better. The fault lies with the rioters for burned out buildings, cars, and people getting hurt, but it's far easier to blame the police for something that is quite rare in Canada.
