...claims deadbeat who somehow managed to choke on a one inch piece of bone that was apparently in her Fray Bentos pie:

http://www.blackpoolgazette.co.uk/news/local/pie_n...

Now, if she had any manners and was chewing her food properly instead of gobbling it down like a pig in a trough she might have realised there was a huge piece of bone in it.

Still, some money should ease her pain no doubt.

Whilst I would normally cast doubt on the authenticity of the story, I refuse to beleive anyone is stupid enough to choke on a chunk of bone on purpose just to get some compensation.

Im suprised it was from a Frey Bentos pie though, as that would mean the meat in them is actually meat...

You'd have thought she'd at least have a shave before her compo pic was taken.

I'm not saying she made it up, but a one inch piece of bone? How can you NOT notice that unless you're eating like an animal and just gulping down food without chewing?

Besides which, the tins apparently contain this disclaimer " 'although every effort is made to remove all bones, some may remain."

I'd be more surprised if I found a piece of meat in one TBH.

"As Nicola Ward sat down for tea she was expecting a tasty treat when she tucked into her Fray Bentos pie."

First mistake.

Don't mean to sound harsh, but can anyone else smell tripe and runny gravy by just looking at that picture of her? hurl

I think she should also sue Victoria hospital who investigated twice and sent her home.

Additionally, she's happy to slip a bone into her mouth.

Until she gags, it seems.

I fking love the local rags. Honestly "Just hold up the pie love", click!!

That said, it's a canned pie not a piece of unprocessed meat, I wouldn't expect an inch long piece of bone to be in one, even if I can't quite see how you wouldn't notice it.
