Just woke up to read this.....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15120522

Speechless but wanting to cry on the relentless demise of all I have loved about this country.

(Just want to add, that I have been lucky enough never to have needed to claim benefit)

You know the documentary on Channel 4 where they studied all the insects
devouring a once proud but now dead elephant...
It sort of feels like that.

I did. It didn't get them anywhere so I took the next option.

I left.

Must be nice to have that option, I am too old and probably not clever enough for any country (apart from Poland maybe!!) that would want me.

Just accept the fine and continue not paying the free-loaders - it'll work out cheaper Im sure.

as a secondary positive, when these benefit tourists realise that the UK isnt just a great big swag bag hopefully they'll move on or find work to feed/house themselves.

What the hell is it at the minute where everyone everywhere, including the bloody rule makers, have decided that if you cant get something for free then you are having your human rights denied. What about the novel notion of actually earning your money... No, anyone!?

But, of course, you can go to France or Holland and claim all their lovely benefits too - or can you?

When we moved to Italy - I have to prove that I had a job and, in their words 'would not be a burden on the state'. I had to jump through many hoops to even get residency - there was no way I would have been accepted if I didn't have a job, that's for sure - no matter what the EU laws may state.

That answers my just-deleted question! biggrin

So did you ask about your human rights as you have a right to those benefits, surely? biggrin

So, what EU rule are THEY following then?

If they aren't following the rules properly, haveb THEY been censured by Brussels?

Or does Brussels retain its ire just for the UK?

I have no idea - but to be honest, I never thought about it, not having the mindset to move to another country without work and relying on that country's benefits.

It does seem that the UK sticks to these silly laws more than other EU members - I see them as a cancer - and is now terminal.

They hate us...we are the biggest cage rattlers in the room. And the Scandinavians are not too happy with the EU either...all they need is UK to flip the bird at the EU and the vikings will bolt too. Only Germany and France left to carry the garbage!

This is why they are at our throats all the time. We are the single biggest threat they face. Imagine if UK and the scandinavians dont send money over!!!!

Vote UKIP for all EU elections and things will get better for us!
