When the front page of the Gruniad is running the story that Sarkozy and Cameron were arguing at the emergency summit of EU leaders.

http://twitpic.com/74tuwn/full

'Sarkozy bluntly told Cameron: "You have lost a good opportunity to shut up." He added: "We are sick of you criticising us and telling us what to do. You say you hate the Euro and now you want to interfere in our meetings."

I'll be honest I would be interfering if they want to get more money out of us to aid with the bailouts.

Maybe this will fuel the debate tomorrow.

Fine then, we'll refuse to be involved in IMF funding and veto change to EU treaties...

If he's got the French angry at him he must be doing something right.

If CMD had just taken his ball home I would've been quite happy.

Maybe we won't need that Referendum after all - The French and Germans might just chuck us out of the whole sorry, corrupt club that is the EU

CMD is interfering. He is interfering in Sarkozy and Merkal's loony plan. Which seems to be give the Greeks more credit, then print some money and give it to the banks who have large amounts of worthless Greek bonds. Repeat every fortnight. During the weeks when you are not putting the loony plan into action stand up and talk rubbish about how it is a long term solution. As it happens I don't happen to be a CMD fan, especially as tonight he's gong to scupper the free vote thereby sinking yet another pre election promise regarding a referendum on the EU. A pox on all their houses, bloody useless politicians across the whole of Europe.

yes small man syndrome.

I believe Sarko's 'doing a Gordon'; messes everything up before being thrown out and the Left takes over.

Sounds like a plan. Few off the cuff comments from our PM, "you smell" and "we know where the white flag factory is" and there will be no need for a debate.

i just wish that any politician would actually stand by there promises they made leading up to when they were elected, but i suppose that would be boring wouldnt it. so CMD may aswel carry on with his "my way or the highway" bolcensoredocks.

You mean like Tony Blair when the French and Germans were saying "Saddam has no WMD" so His Toniness went and destroyed Iraq?

Sarkozy also said of Chancellor Merkel "She's supposed to be on a diet, but I saw her going for a second helping of cheese".

Well at least it not just our wayn-kerr politicians who take the *iss. When I read things like this, all that can be done is to round them all up on a plane and send them off to NY over the Atlantic with half a tank of gas.

my thoughts exactly. the french want more money from EU/IMF rather than EZ. no wonder sarko doesn't want us in the meetings. one thing we can be absolutely sure of is the french will stab us in the back at the first opportunity. first time i've actually thought dc has the rocks for the job. good for him.

The oven was only £75k of the £250 million(!) refit cost (plus £50m for the plane itself) - as for how he spends EU cash:
