I think the beatings were a regular event, which was why she set up the camera. It's disgusting, and the mother is no better, frankly. The whole thing is absolutely appalling

Apart from any other consideration, she was sixteen when that was filmed - a young woman. The mother screaming at her to ''take it like a woman'' is pretty bloody disturbing

That is an horrific video. Even if he apologised (as per the article), that was a severe, sustained assault and should be punished. One or two hits may be acceptable to those who take the view that children need discipline, (having received a few myself I strongly disagree), but this was simply inexcusable behaviour.

If I was a prosecutor, I would argue for the maximum sentence available, or a whipping, one stroke for every time he hit her.

Really?! I turned off after the first beating, not pleasant when you know it's real. Very disturbing that somebody who's capable of that is a judge for, of all things, child abuse cases.

I didn't understand that, the video says you shouldn't blame her because she was manipulated. WTF, is the judge also a hypnotist?

I think you are missing one of the most pertinent points: he was a judge on child abuse cases. Surely this must throw at the very least doubt on his judgements.
