Dont worry - continue to plan/buy your holiday, just dont expect to actually go on it. But you'll get your money back one day. Maybe.

"We have all the protection in place as any other travel company and they should not worry," he said.
Sorry but thats a load of rubbish. Anyone who has been away or planning to go away with a holiday company that then goes bust could tell you that actually getting compensation for a holiday that has been lost can take years. As a side note to the above (which I guess is part of the cause) news the other day saying Virgin, Easyjet and BAA asking the gubberment to remove passenger flight tax as it is losing more money than it makes, I doubt it will be removed but a very slim chance of it being lowered I guess?!

I don't think the Chairman of Thompson will be too pleased considering it's Thomas Cook that's in danger
Hang on!
So what's the problem with Tui/Thomson now then?? I can't find anything concrete about their troubles.
Rival operator TUI Travel was also hit, with its shares down by 9 per cent or 13.9p at 136.7p, while British Airways owner International Consolidated Airlines was 7.2p lower at 132p.
