Did anyone hear the muppet from the TUC this morning.

Came on to defend the fact that in the north east public service wages are 10% higher then private sector while they were 1% lower in London. A paramedic in the north east earn 60% more then a equivilant skill grade

In he barged saying it was just a governement tatic to attach the public service

When asked if public service wages should be rasied in London he was lost and tried to blame the bankers.

Then it was suggested that maybe all public service should have the same living standards as those in london had a lower standard then the north east for the same cash.

His solution to this was to reduce the price of living in london by throwing out the bankers.

What a tt

Every (extremely well remunerated) union leader I have heard has been the same.

All very New Labour. Unable to answer the question, and just keep pumping forward the same old, tired message.

To an extent, I do think they must feel cornered.

Thankfully, with the direction things are (inevetably) going, they are nearing the end of their relevance. A benefit of the modern age of information is that it is becomming far harder for Champagne Socialists to pretend to be "one of the ordinary workers".
