I am sure they will find a buyer for it next July at a suitably low price.

They don't wanna lose their salt budget by using last year's stock.

Just before the next ice age commences.

Some pattern forecasters (as opposed to short term weather forecasters) are forecasting a very cold snap around 16th Dec...

We've had frost at least twice on the North West but for the most part it's just been really windy and wet.

Wasn't really frost, it was rain which then froze!

Yup, that definitely increases the odds dramatically. All we need now to make it a certainty is for BAA to buy a couple of snow-ploughs to keep the airports clear....

Around Winchester I've seen temperatures ranging from -4 to 13 over the last two weeks, definitely saw ground frost when it was -4 hehe

There were also forecasts for snow in October (and the collapse on the Euro in Autumn).

Indeed. My preferred response is, "ask me in the Spring".

Yeah, its quite amusing that one of the "expert" long range forecasters that was quoted in the winter tyres thread stated we'd have below average temperatures from November to February with snow across the country from now onwards.. oops.

-4 in Winchester? you want to move to the bottom of the M3, none of that rubbish down here!

Yeah the cars had frozen dew/rain on a couple of times but thats about all. Low temps are slowly falling but not too bad : http://uk.weather.com/weather/10day-Winchester-UKX...

Ok, so it must have been below zero to freeze the *global warming CO2 tax evilness polar bear extinction event* that fell on the car during the night then.

Oh and I nearly forgot, we only have 3 nanoseconds to reduce our wanton release of lemonade bubbles into the atmosphere before acid ozone holes fall from the sky as drought-rain and kill all the polar bears who would otherwise drown in the floods because all that ice in the sea that melts doesn't obey the laws of physics and fluid dynamics. But, panic not, if you eat tofu and lentils and buy Duchy Original Pasties, the rainforests will flourish and McDonalds will be frozen to death in a blazing fireball of ice which can't possibly exist because Phil Jones has a computer model which projects that the blazing fireball of ice might not happen for 90 years. Possibly.
