"The four women - three sisters and their cousin - were told the charge of actual bodily harm, which carries a maximum sentence of five years, against 22-year-old care worker Rhea Page would normally land them in custody.

However, the judge handed the women suspended sentences after hearing that they were not used to alcohol because their religion does not allow it.

Miss Page said Ambaro Maxamed, 24, Ayan Maxamed, 28, and Hibo Maxamed, 24, and their 28-year-old cousin Ifrah Nur screamed "Kill the white slag" while kicking her in the head as she lay motionless on the ground. "

I wonder what the outcome would have been had it been the other way round shouting "Kill the Muslim slag"...truly terrible decision by the judge. However, had I been the boyfriend I would kicked the living st out of the Muslim women anyway and saved them from their suspended sentence. Pisses me off stuff like this.

I wonder if the guardians of their faith will stone them for drinking alcohol?

Nope it's not ok. These sick individuals should have got the full force of the law, but yet they walk free?

This hasn't got anything to do with their beliefs - hardly a good example of a muslim drinking and fighting in the street.

I've just watched the video on the telegraph link and this infuriates me. Why is the judge being so liberal? Yes, the boyfriend used force against the women, but they started it in the first place as an unprovoked attack.

Its ridiculous, of course the boyfriend used force his misses was getting the crap literally kicked out of her. What would have happened if he didnt use force, how far would they have gone? What would you have done if it was your misses?

The same people that wake up every morning thinking the world is against them and should anyone say anything remotely critical of Islam, their natural position is 'highly offended'.

They can't have it both ways - hmmmm, actually they can and they are, it appears.

The judge demonstrating his ignorance there. But then, it wouldn't be the first time a judge demonstrating they were out of touch with society.

Having said that I always worry about direct comparisons. Previous record etc sometimes helps us to understand sentencing. First time offender, repeat offender and so on.

Have you met anyone with these views? I mean personally met them? I read about them in the papers but have never met anyone who's got these kind of views, and i've been muslim all my life. Actually, I don't know anyone that would stick up for these women, muslim or not.

that conversation is irrelevant here. The proof is on cctv. And any religious excuse is simply that....an excuse to play the system. The judge in this case should have clearly stated that their religion is not an excuse here and even if it was....you were breaking your own religious code of conduct in this situation.

This judgement is clearly a case of the judge having a blowjob under the desk and going all PC on some brown people who use stupid religious excuses to play the system. Simple as that! Those defendants knew how to play the card and the judge had his balls busy to call them out on it. Instead...he just angered a lot of law abiding people of all colours and religions. Well done PC Britain!!!

I think locking them up though would be a waste of money. Corporal punishment would be cheaper and more effective.

Nope - I haven't met any either and I live in the Middle East! However, there is a minority that seem to feel that way and they get all the airtime they want when they are having a tantrum about something or other but they are curiously silent when something like this happens.

Sending them back to Somalia would be even cheaper. Sorry, we have plenty of home-grown scum thanks, you've had your chance.

The thing is, its an extremely perverse excuse.

"We're muslims, we're not used to drinking" - wtf?

If you're a muslim you shouldn't be drinking.
If you've been drinking you're NOT being muslim

confused

There's a minority that think the earth is flat smile They are given airtime because it gets other people excited. A bit like the celebs in IACGMOOH - no right minded individual would go into the jungle and eat kangaroo testicles but for some reason its great TV.

So the effects of alcohol are used as an excuse for leniency.....hmmm! Does this mean drink drivers get let off because it was the damn alcohol 'wot dun it'?
Whatever happened to personal responsibility where they could have exercised restraint and decided not to drink alcohol because of their beliefs and the knowledge that it was likely to have an adverse effect on them.
Epic fail.
