Daily Mail article here stating that Katie Price is interested in running for election as a Police & Crime Commissioner.

The PCCs are going to replace Police Authorities and will have the control over budgets.

At which point did the dumb fks in the Tory Party (it is a party political issue) not think that his would become a popularity contest for celebrities and monied business folk, as oposed to even more petty local politico-creatures standing on the 'party ticket'.

The chances of a "common" man (or woman) getting involved must be remote given the potential cost of campaigning.

What’s the worst that could happen, feral kids running riot almost unchallenged, whilst there are still plenty of BIB available for speeding ticket duty?

Probably the same kind of dumb fk that believes the Daily Mail and fails to realise these celebrities are already allowed to stand for parliament, yet is more concerned that they might suddenly win a vote as a PCC. . . . . .

About as much chance of this as her taking delivery of "her" pink Veyron.

Find a z list celeb, fall in love, sell story, get married, sell story, have child, sell story, fall out of love, sell story, get divorced, sell story, rinse and repeat till your a washed up old hag....not sure how that will help her police "career".

Though I bet she has already sold the TV rights to her "campaign" and election to office.

Ohh, a hissy fit insult. Best one I have had all day. wink

If you had read it, my point wasn't that they are allowed to stand (is it only serving cops that can't?), but that anyone would be suprised that a celeb wouldn't do this for publicity and the craic.
