Richard Branson "tweeted" three hours ago

"Should we create a ‘Lemon’ award next year for the country that does the least towards tackling #climatechange?" rolleyes

Ridiculous.

Shame. Another globtetrotting multimillionaire on the bandwagon.

Nothing worse than a Learjet environmentalist.

And he's got a beard.

And it's ginger.

("it" as in his beard not his bits. Although I'm sure they are)

This is disappointing. With his airline, island in the sun and massive empire of evil polluting businesses I expected better.

Maybe a lemon award for whichever bozo of a politician magics up another reason to curb 'climate change' with a new tax.

In 2006/7, Virgin Atlantic's aircraft emitted 4.767 million tonnes of CO2.

Branson didn't Tweet anything. He has teams of PR flunkies churning this guff out under his name.

You'd think he would be quite selective with whom he chose to speak on his behalf and that they would reflect his true thoughts...

No fuel duty on jet fuel either - inflicted on car drivers to supposedly discourage use and stop global warming.

We need a LOTY award for the biggest muppet who allows climate jibberish to be publicised in their name, with a special category for deluded billionaires.

Hasnt he taken enough from the taxpayer through train subsidies, and getting a bank for nothing?

I suppose this is the beginning of a 'give me carbon credits to sell to the little people' assualt.

Someone should smack Branson square in his smug ginger face.

His daughter is hot though.

Damn right I would

What has that got to do with being a hypocrite though?

I'm sure he offset all the carbon for his balloon stunts and his transatlantic boat record must have needed some trees planting.

Those alone probably burnt more ful than the rest of us use in a lifetime.

Perhaps we ought to have a hypocrite award for those 'celebrities' who produce to the most CO2 whilst lecturing us to cut down.

Perhaps they should be beaten to death? That's really the only way they will learn....

Let's face it, pretty much any celebrity with a big house and who flies all over the shop is in this category (if they tell us the bull***t)...

How about a plum award for the most hypocritical celebrity environmentalist and social activist?

An airline owner with his own private space programme feigning concern about MMGW should fit the bill nicely.
