Man, 20, stabbed in Wolverhampton shop dispute.

A man was stabbed as horrified shoppers looked on during a row in a Wolverhampton city centre store.

The 20-year-old suffered “several” wounds to his back in the attack by three men at Foot Locker in Dudley Street at 4pm yesterday.

Assistant manager Nathan Blake said today that an argument broke out in the shop. “I wasn’t in the store but I have been told what happened by staff that were,” he said.

“There were a couple of people arguing with one other man, then they just attacked him. They were all asked to leave but then they just attacked the man, who was on his own. They had knives and kept on stabbing him. I was told he was stabbed about 16 times.

“It was fortunate that it was late on and it was quiet.

“The man who was stabbed managed to stay on his feet, and the police and paramedics arrived really quickly.”

An alleyway next to the store that runs between Dudley Street and Market Street was cordoned off by police following the attack.

The victim, who is from Wolverhampton, was taken to New Cross Hospital and later discharged.

Stabbed 16 times and left hospital the same day?

Express and Star said:
A woman was stabbed to death and a man left fighting for his life in Wolverhampton today. Detectives have sealed off a flat in Whitmore Reans and were this afternoon scouring the scene for clues about the double stabbing.

Both the 36-year-old woman and the man, in his 30s, were found unconscious when police arrived at a flat off Newhampton Road West.

Neighbours today said the pair were a couple and had a baby together.

Police said they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the stabbings.

Officers were called to a row of flats near Gibbs Street and Coleman Street at 7.45am following reports of a disturbance.

After officers found the couple collapsed inside, they began to carry out medical treatment before paramedics arrived but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was this afternoon fighting for his life at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.

Police are now carrying out door-to-door inquiries to piece together what happened to the couple, who are believed to be Kurdish.

Charlie Brooker said something witty last night about the sports shops were targeted during the riots and how certain sections of society measure success or status on what trainers one wears.
Also the BBC reported a few weeks back on the (criminal) trouble surrounding the launch of some new Nike air basketball sneakers in the U.S. Very sad.

Any society that measures status by way of sports footwear is clearly broken.

fking hell thats crazy!

One thing i have always wondered is why Jordans have never taken off here. There not all hideous things with shiny plastic all over hehe
When in the states take a look at what casual shoes people are wearing- its usually Jordans regardless of age or race so i find it odd there not widespread here. I've got a few (subtle) pairs which i love.
