Further details from over here indicate that his first wife was unable to have children, therefore, she was relegated to servant, etc. while the current wife, and murder accomplice, was acquired.

IIRC, this fellow was a rather successful businessman on an international level. Assuming, therefore, he has been exsposed to education and other ways of doing things, one would believe that he would at least realize that this type st will not fly in his new country irregardless of what he believes is his right/duty.

That makes it even more outrageous , they come to the west and yet hang on to their old primitive ways

Yes, the article did indicate that it is far more prevelant in the UK than in Canada or the US. I suppose it is a matter of time before that goes up unless the penalties start to give the would be honor killers pause.

I doubt western style penalties would deter, the Saudi type may for that is the lifestyle they want. At the mega & uncontrolled level of immigration and birth levels in many of these close knit communities, the problem is going to get much worse. In so many parts of England, a native face is a rare sight.

The question needs to be asked how do such primitives live amongst decent people for so long without people being aware. Or perhaps, more accurately, why does the wider community think it's OK to sit back and watch this sort of thing happen.

Apparently, they have not as they were found guilty. I understand your thought though; why are the conditions allowed to fester that allows these things. I suppose if there are no indications, nobody knows about it until it's too late.
