Sentence for being off your tits on drugs and booze, taking a chainsaw into a pub, slicing into people = 3 years. I just don't know how to react to that. 3 years. Presumably out in 18 months if he behaves. I know some people can have off days, get a bit stressed, make silly choices. But, in my opinion, going home to fetch a chainsaw with which to attack innocent bystanders - over a matter as trivial as a cigarette - is pretty fecking mental. You have to go waaaaaaaaaaaaay past 'upset' or 'pissed off' to get to that level of disturbed.

Usual story, after he leaves and is well down the road, loads of 'hardmen' appear out of the pub to have a go at him.... 
I can imagine they will relate their part in the story a thousand times, over beer in that very pub. "yeah, well, I didn't see him in the pub, (because chain saws are silent running) but as soon as I heard about it I grabbed a chair and went outside after him..."

If he had been waving a chain saw at me and then got taken down I would have stuck the boot in as well.It didnt even look as if he meant to hurt anyone thogh. looked to me more like he was waving it around trying to scare peole.
to be fair it wasnt just beer barrel man a few inside were throwing chairs at him.
