Big earthquake reported in Mexico

"A major 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck near Acapulco on Mexico's Pacific coast, the U.S. Geological Survey said on Tuesday. Earlier it had been reported at 7.6 magnitude.

The quake shook buildings in Mexico City, according to a Reuters witness."

Interesting how technology changes the way people react. It has been reported that Mexico City Mayor Marcello Ebrard has sent a Twitter saying 'we have an earthquake'.

It's the same magnitude as the 1906 San Francisco earthquake for comparison. I hope there's not too much damage.

Bloomberg now reporting: "Buildings in Mexico City shook for more than a minute after a 7.9 magnitude earthquake struck 108 miles east of Acapulco."
