So after hunting through UKIP twitter feeds for swear words and silly jokes made by UKIP members I wonder what ConHQ will spin about this one.

Maybe a Bi-election coming up?

Well well.

This doesn't reflect badly on the Tories (as hinted in the OP) and they won't need to spin it though. If the charges are true it's unthinkable that they knew about him raping men and didn't act on the information and they will condemn Evans if he's guilty and chuck him out of the party.

Of course it is, I read it on twitter once so it must be true.

I think it will reflect badly on the conservatives if only due to mud sticking, as many of us remember the jokes about Harvey Proctor and his odd tastes from 20 years ago. It will inevitably add to the low opinion that politicians are held in by many of the general public.

Lets hope this is not typical of the people we have running the country.
If there was a by election it would be interesting to see if the tories hold on, as they got 50% of the vote last time.

Put it another way "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones".

e.g ConHQ saying UKIP haven't vetted their candidates properly.

Conservative Nigel Evans 26,298 50.3 +5.4
Labour Paul Foster 11,529 22.0 −7.8
LibDem Allan Knox 10,732 20.5 −2.1
UKIP Stephen Rush 3,496 6.7 +4.0
Independent Tony Johnson 232 0.4 N/A

Who knows, a lot of people may vote tactically. Whats the bet they'll try and keep him on until the next GE.

Maybe this was just Evan's way of vetting people properly?
He's a solid tory though - I couldn't find a single case where he'd voted against the party line.

Perhaps the party whips knew about the skeletons in his closet?

It's hardly comparable though.

Of course it is! Cameron has told his minions to gig any old st up on UKIP candidates, hoping that some sordid stories will emerge. Instead, he needed to look a lot closer to home.

No I think he meant that a double rape isn't comparable to parking on a double yellow line.

ETA: He's a bloody hypocrite though, campaigning for gay marriage and then raping two people. WTF?

^ WTF?

How is rape something which could be "dug up"? Unless Evans has been posting about how much he enjoys a bit of raping on Twitter; I'm not on Twitter or Facebook so that would have passed me by. Generally though rape is the sort of thing an offender would keep to themselves.

That was exactly my point.
