I hope this discussion stays on the (limited) subject of the new leads, I know I hope that somehow she is alive and well and living with people who are caring for her, it is the best outcome, the worst is that she died by some means unknown and we never find out and punish those people.

Its blood boilingly insulting how much time and effort has been wasting on Maddy Mccaan when hundreds of other kids have gone missing over the period of time.

Handy of the sun to illustrate what a white van looks like, one might assume most of their readership might already know!

Because threads on this subject normally get out of control and various potentially libellous theories get thrown about. I believe PH has had warnings from legal bods, so threads on this subject are normally nipped in the bud before it happens (like the one a few days back did).

It pisses me off how much resource has been wasted on this pointless endeavour.
Maddie died because her parents were st at parenting. It is incredibly sad. They will probably never catch the person(s) rsponsible. This is also incredibly sad. Surely it's not just time to stop wasting time, effort and money chasing ghosts, and more importantly to stop trying to sell bad newspapers based on the media construct of the memory of a poor little girl who was unlucky enough to be left on her own in a strange place by 2 selfish parents.

I would have thought the worst option is that she is still alive and not living with nice people.

Still think this is a huge waste of time though. How much public money has been spent on this?

Is that what is classed as a lead?

I always thought a "lead" was some interesting line of inquiry that would stand out, not just knowing there were "about 6 people" in a van.

It is estimated that if the total resources expended in the search for Maddy had been allocated to a central 'find missing children' fund, over 20 British children declared missing since 2007 would now have been reunited with their grieving parents.

Does this include Gerry McCaan's tour of America? I've never understood the reason for that trip.
