£350,000 over payments over an 8 year period
So 43 grand a year MORE then she should of been getting
Remind me again where the 40% income tax band starts as i don't earn enough to be paying it

There are plenty more out there doing the same. I once investigated a family that said both their kids where wheel chair bound. We observed both kids running, sword fighting with sticks and playing football. I've never understood why someone would use a child for such a sick reason
Yes but it's not always that clear cut.1) I know a five year old who looks on first glance to be perfectly normal, can run and jump, but who has severe autism, and gets very tired after a short time. So if they take him to Chester Zoo today, they will need to take a push chair, (which is half push chair and half wheel chair) because after 20 mins of rushing around he will have flopped.
They have a blue badge, they get some benefits relating to his disability.
95% of people would assume they are taking the piss on first glance.
2) My wife has Post Viral Chronic Fatigue (ME)(Yuppie Flu). She can on a good day do anything that a 46 year old can do. On a bad day she can't do anything. Getting up tires her out.
She works for free one day a week at a charity, and then has 6 days off.
If she tried to work full time, she would be able to do 4 mornings a week, and she'd have to rest the rest of the time.
She could claim benefits. She won't.
Why ? Well because if an investigator came round and filmed her life on a good day, they'd be saying she was committing fraud. And this is what happened to a local councillor whose condition was deemed to have been less worse than he was claiming for.

Bloke over the road from me, crying other day on his next door neighbour because hes been reassessed since havin cancer.
They ve stopped all his benefits including his car and now he ll also have to pay bedroom tax.
Not sure how long he d been in the clear of cancer so to speak.
Clear of cancer? They ve stopped all his benefits including his car and now he ll also have to pay bedroom tax.

Sounds like a win surely?
Obviously cancer is a tragedy however why would you get a car on benefits if yours is the type which can be cured?

Just to be clear, there is no such thing as "bedroom tax" so he's not being asked to pay anything. A better description would be...."He's not getting subsidised spare rooms anymore".They ve stopped all his benefits including his car and now he ll also have to pay bedroom tax.

When I lost my job 2 years ago I got JSA, and that was it. My "Bedroom Tax" was 100%, and was immediate. Where were the protests, and labour politicians to fight for my cause. They didn't appear....so I got a job.

Very true, I've been dealing with a 9 year old with autism, mild CP and behaviour problems. I've had this child in my care since October. His family got DLA for his care, which in my opinion is not needed. He used to get taken to school on a LA bus, his medical needs are met free of charge and he is fully mobile, he is also fully continent and able to keep himself clean, so why does his family still get £100 a week for his care? You wife suffers from an issue that could be faked by anyone who has the ability, not saying she is as I'm sure the doctors have tests. The benefit system is set up to fail the real people who need help 1) I know a five year old who looks on first glance to be perfectly normal, can run and jump, but who has severe autism, and gets very tired after a short time. It's hardly surprising that when people see so many other people acting like pigs with their front feet in the trough of public money (theoretically legitimately), that they don't see why they shouldn't have some themselves.
It is odd isn't it - I read the PCC's giving rather well paid jobs to their friends i.e. people who are not on the face of it qualified to undertake the role - is that fraud? Should it be!?!? Then MPs claiming expenses fraudulently. Yet this is somehow different?
Don't get me wrong, I don't think she should do this at all but look at the example set and the double standards.

This sort of story really confuses and annoys me.
I have been made redundant a number of times and apart from 180 days of JSA, I get Sweet f
k All.
Once the 180 days are up I don't even get JSA.
I have a wife and 3 kids.
How can anyone justify £43k a year yet alone an EXTRA £43k a year?

Silly me what was I thinking. I thought it was designed for people who needed help not wanted some free cash from the pot.
I take your point but if it was just that you'd have a lot of Phers saying 'I paid in for years and when I was sick/unemployed I got nothing (because I had savings)'. swerni said:

As a tax payer I see lots of moral ground to criticise her

No-one is saying she did nothing wrong. As a tax payer I see lots of moral ground to criticise her
I for one can't even believe she was overpaid by 43k a year let alone was able to claim 43k in the first place!
However, we are being defrauded of billions of pounds by the Global Warming scam, we have MPs claiming hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of expenses they are not entitled to etc etc.. There are many, many people who should be more honest and decent who defraud the taxpayer, so why should we be so upset about this woman?
