Watching the news tonight about protesters in various areas of the country got me thinking, do they ever work? Has a small scale protest ever changed policy or the law?

Or does it have to grow into a massive protest/riot before anyone takes notice?

Generally I feel most protests are a waste of time and do not get reconised.

Depends on the objective, which may be to get the 'word out' to build grass roots support for a cause rather than directly lead to change.

You mean like those Greenpeace protesters that got arrested and flung in jail in Russia?

I like your thinking, bit I can't help but suggest that a more civilised and effective approach is to alert a mod using the report button.

Shows a strength of feeling, whether the Govt take any notice is another matter. If nobody protested they'd soon fk us over, yes worse than now.

They only work if they're in France because French governments always surrender.

30 years ago Tilikum the orca killer whale was captured off the coast of Iceland when he was approx 2 years old. He is still in a swimming pool at Seaworld, Orlando. He has killed 3 people while in captivity (2 were trainers.)
To steal a whale from the sea and put him in a pool and get him to perform for fish is cruel, evil and inhumane. Whales are intelligent mammals.
"Blackfish" a documentary film of his life has been made and has been showing on CNN.

This Saturday I am taking part in a protest outside Seaworld. An end to keeping whales in swimming pools would be my dream
