Just to make everyone one aware natwest has crashed and is declining all cards and no access to online banking. Been following them on twitter, sounds pretty major.

Just had a very embarrassing moment in Sainsburys with a declining card.

You'd think a large hank would have kind of redundancy for situations like this... look like they haven't learnt from the first crash. Hopefully this time it will be resolved faster.

And yet the service status page on their website shows everything running normally. That page is a lot of use, then.

It's part of RBS. Janet, the only person with a functioning intellect within the group is probably on holiday.

It's affecting everything. ATMS, card purchasing and online services.

That's odd; I've just bought 3 items online in the last hour with my Natwest Mastercard with no problems.

Guess that's why my card was declined in Morrison's a few minutes ago. I can't log into online banking either.

This isn't the first time they've had major IT problems stopping people getting their money. Useless s!

My credit card worked but my debit card didn't, obviously on a different system.

The app works on my phone (after a particularly long loading time). I've probably just passed my log-on details to some mysterious hacker but, more concerning, my expenses haven't been paid.

I'd suggest an Mx5 would be the best option.

Quick web search suggests real problems with on;line Natwest

See http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/natwest.com.html

No doubt explanations will be offered and the business will go on as if nothing has gone wrong. Not good.
