Is it just me who reckons that forty world leaders crammed into Paris is going to be the most tempting terrorist target for decades?

I hope their security is adequate. I don't see how it can be, myself.

Very worrying.

I really feel for the people of Paris and France. Hope this goes OK.

They are all replaceable, so not too much of a risk.

I am thinking that they may have considered the security.

....and then arrest Edward Fox, just as a precaution.

Too late. I am sure the assassin will already be in Paris with a walking stick.

Nope. Brilliant piece of fk you to the terrorists.

It will have been planned long before what has happened, and to let it continue shows these spineless s we are not afraid.

I think the whole idea is absolutely excellent. Exactly the right public and political reaction. Our head of state should be over there as well.

We should be embarrassed that nothing similar took place in London back in 2005. Instead we had the regrettable killing of Jean Charles de Menezes. Ken Livingstone did make a statement to the bombers saying that "people flee you because you tell them how they should live. They don't want that and nothing you do, however many of us you kill, will stop that flight to our cities where freedom is strong and where people can live in harmony with one another. Whatever you do, however many you kill, you will fail".[

Why? Show resolve and make a statement rather than bowing to their wishes and caving in.

In fact that is one of our strengths and in some cases they would be doing the people a favour.

The leaders will be fine. It's the millions on the streets I'm worried about.

I very much hope so, and the end today will be a mighty relief.

A million+ people, so much scope for things to go wrong - after all Presidents/PM's have been assassinated. frown

Yes, just you.
These 'heroes' like nice easy targets that cause terror among the general population - not a hope they would go for a high profile political target such as this in this situation.

I can imagine the first response of the French Police to be something like
"we are going to what"
"We have just had a massive draw on our manpower, now everybody is on call again".

A large show is encouraged, a show of unity in the French people, that will of course include those of Muslim origin showing their support.
All wearing coats because of the temperature

A security nightmare.

Au contraire.

More overtime! That's what Mr Plod likes best.

One a possibly more important point than "are all the leaders going to be shot?", it is very good to see that the Palestinian president is attending todays march at the same time as the Israeli president. As his is the cause that a lot of these cowards use as justification for their actions hopefully this will be sending a strong signal to the nutters.

Also makes you wonder how many world leaders would turn up to a march like this in the UK? Or indeed how many of our citizens could be bothered to turn up?

"Well I would go but its United v The Saints on Sky plus its a bit cold, innit."

I would also bet that if there was such a march in the UK, there would be a massive counter-demonstration by the followers of the religion of peace where they would be allowed to chant race hate slogans with absolutely no consequences from the authorities. Because we don't want to offend anyone, do we? Just the like the beeb still not referring to the three French scumbags as terrorists but as "gunman" or "hostage takers".rolleyes
