I always say Never buy supermarket fuel.

Instead of every little helps it seems the customer service at Tesco said 'It's your problem, fix it yourself"

No they didn't.

Tesco said:
We are working to contact all affected customers and will work with them on an individual basis to resolve their problems.

Where we are found to have been at fault we will, of course, cover the costs of any repairs needed to customers' vehicles.

I doubt that the forecourt staff are car mechanics.

Non story.

Do you think forecourt staff are mechanics then? Forecourt staff won't even have access to the funds to pay for this.

I'm 100% sure that all costs incurred by the drivers will be covered by Tescos. Nothing the forecourt staff can do at the time though.

Any evidence to support that?

This happens not infrequently. I know of two service stations who've done the same over the last couple of years, neither of them Supermarkets.

In all honesty if it were to happen to me, I'd rather it was a supermarket because some little independent is going to try to wriggle out of it with much more vigour IMO.

Who's tankers do tesco use to fill the forecourt tanks.

How does a mistake by a driver mean it's bad to use a supermarket station.

We had this in Dorset last year, turns out the tanker driver stole fuel from the tanker and topped it up with another substance which caused a lot of cars to break down.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-dorset-307959...

Tesco paid many thousands getting affected customers cars repaired.

Edit complete spell check gibberish authentic old west gibberish. I don't even know what I was trying to type myself. Something about tesco will pay out because they will just claim back from supplier.

Don’t worry no doubt Aldi will open fuel stations soon, where people can buy similar stuff for a similar price but need to queue for twice as long. And everyone will be going on how brilliant they are.
Nah, the queues will be short, you'll just have to put the fuel into a container and carry it back to the car park to put it in your car.

Greenergy is Tesco's fuel supplier.

They are also a major "spot market" supplier, and will supply most filling stations with 95 RON unleaded and regular diesel on an intermittent basis.

Just in case. Man must also go to petrol stations that are not supermarket. So he could make mistake there too. Silly reason to not go to supermarkets
