Just curious, who actually writes for the Daily Mail and how does it work?

My guess is that they have some kind of internships for Journalism students and push them hard because they're desperate for the work experience?
Something like "Have 20 articles on my desk by tomorrow morning or you're fired! 5 about a z-list celebrity's ample assets and enviable pins, 5 about another celebrity's toned abs and pert derriere, 5 with extremely low resolution pictures with an animal hidden in them but the animal is only 1 pixel across and put "BUT IS ALL AS IT SEEMS" in the headline in capitals, and the other 5 about something explicit with WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT but put the graphic images on the home page so people see them anyway. If you have enough time to run a spell-check then you're not working hard enough and you'll be fired."

Is that about right?

Is there a source for that? If so then Nineteen Eighty Four has another prophesy fulfilled in the production of Prolefeed via a versificator.

It's amazing how many articles on the DM website had previously appeared on Facebook, 9gag or Reddit

Gawker ragging on the DM? "O kettle, thou art of the blackest kind!"

As much as I dislike the DM, Gawker is (was) scum. Good riddance.

It'll only get more prevalent:

It's called churnalism. Regurgitating someone else's article or even prepared press releases/advertising and formatting them as an article for yourself. It's how the Mail has become the most read news website in the world laugh.

That's what I thought as well. Nice irony going on there! hehe

I'm convinced DM writers are instructed to put in glaringly obvious mistakes/lies to wind people up. Half of the comments are people complaining about how crap the DM is, and yet they keep coming back day after day to complain and give them ad revenue...

Most "journalism" these days appears to involve browsing Twitter looking for something a handful of people are offended about

And then claiming it as an 'exclusive'.

To be fair to the DM, they are not the only ones guilty if this.

but they are one of the worst offenders
