After all the fuss about TM and JC going to Grenfell Tower, is there really any mileage in the rich and famous coming for a look? To me it just seems like they're being nosey.
Is anything gained from them visiting?
JC turned up and hugged a few people, has it really made any difference to the victims?
I don't get it

Turning up and hugging people does nothing, a full public enquiryon the other hand almost certainly will, however the hungers get a pat on the back and those trying to find the cause and prevent a repeat get slated.

Exactly. Everyone seems to want TM's head on a stick for not meeting the victims. Let's say that she did, what difference would it have really made in comparison to her not doing it?

Who is this? Why are we using initials?

In the Daily Mail I've seen Rita Ora, Silly Allen, Brooklyn Beckham with bodyguard, and Adele.

Anyhow..........

I can see why senior politicians and party leaders might attend, but 'celebs'? Nope, don't really get that.

Rita Ora grew up in the area, played with friends in the tower and one of her friends is amongst the missing (so I have read).

And Adele hardly made a big deal of being there, someone just spotted her in the crowd as another horrified onlooker.

Lily Allen on the other hand turned up to play politics.

Lily Allen turning up to help is one thing , but her turning up to be the self appointed spokesperson for the poor is a joke.

She was born with a silver spoon and got where she did because of her father.

Now she claims to represent the poor but lives in the posh area.

She hasn't a bloody clue what it's like to be poor.

Do we really think that we would even have heard of her if it wasn't for daddy...

Politicians are not just "famous people". They are supposed to be "leaders" and "representatives" of the electorate. As a consequence of this, it is expected that they react in an appropriate way when something of this nature happens. Usually this involves some modicum of empathy and and a fair amount of prescience and leadership.

I'm not going to comment on the relative merits as to how May and Corbyn have handled themselves on this occasion.

However, there is a world of difference between the response of a May or Corbyn compared to someone like Lilly Allen or Bono.

And just when I thought Clarkson had embraced humanitarianism.

Fortunately I've never seen her being interviewed, but does Lily Allen talk with the same irritating 'Mockney' glottal stop she uses in her songs?

Probably. Many lefties do that as they think it appeals to their target market and makes them seem like 'one of the people'.

Brooklyn Beckham turning up with a bloody bodyguard, what a complete knobber.

Has he got one of his photography books coming out.
