Any advance on £160,000?

And sold to the ex Chief Constable too! How cosy.

They are coming up with the £500,000 number because thats what AG 1 is listed for.

That logic doesn't really work... if an unrealistic seller lists AG 1 for £50,000,000 does that mean AB 1 is worth that too?

Also its a bit silly to then say it'll be worth £700,000 in a few years... they were talking to a private number plate dealer was he ever going to do anything apart from praise them as awesome investments?

stty journalism from that rag, as expected.

I saw the number plate "3" on a Mini a few months ago. Real, or not?

There is a web site to check about it on, but I don't know it.

Not a real mainland UK number, possibly channel isles?

Yup, CI. Saw a CI Jag with the number plate 7 once.

Apparently over there low digit numbers are high status.

Bigger question is how did an ex-chief constable have £160k spare?

I smell a fiddle, and he'll be selling it on for a large profit soon.

Guernsey cars are just numbers, and often black plate with white/silver digits.

Jersey cars are J reg on normal plates.

J plates that are especially good sell for tens of thousands, my family have a couple of 3 digit and 4 digit plates, and they're never going to get sold.

Inheritance? Not unusual for parents to die early and leave a house to an only child, etc.

It's utterly above board, nothing to see here.

it's simply a coincidence that it was sold to someone in the inner circle for an undisclosed price.

I remember that on a Rover P6 V8 years ago when I lived up that way. We were all convinced it was modded as it used to move along quite nicely and sounded lovely.
