Was your meal ruined by Tesco?

You can bet that there will be a few unscrupulous people that will have eaten and enjoyed the turkey dinner they bought from Tesco but will try to claim they had to bin it for the compensation!

Does nobody look at the best before date BEFORE buying?
“Thank you Tesco for the Finest Turkey Crown with a sell-by date of 26/12 that had gone off by the 25th … ruining our Christmas Dinner."TooMany2cvs said:
And did nobody find it off BEFORE cooking?

“Imagine my sheer panic at 6am on Xmas Day, opening the turkey wrap to be hit by that ‘gone off’ smell with 10 people coming to Xmas Dinner.”Carl Barber, from Clacton-on-Sea, Essex, wrote: “This was bought only a few days ago and it’s out of date. 23 quid wasted now have no Xmas turkey for Xmas day. Any customer services available today??”
and
“£250 wasted. An awful meal and eight sick people!”
She later added on Facebook: “I was very excited and worked super hard to make and prepare Christmas dinner for my family for the first time ever but thanks to the Tesco I served them a rotten, rancid turkey that was inedible.
“Not only that – the gravy was made from the turkey so that resulted in everyone’s meal ending up in the bin. Thanks Tesco!”

Meal for two?
I'll have to remember that for next year, looks perfect.
I had steak and Mrs BC had chicken wrapped in ham - no point doing a xmas dinner for just the two of us but I'll +1 to your suggestion seems like a good plan with minimal waste (except the packaging)I'll have to remember that for next year, looks perfect.
It would be interesting to find out the facts on this but I cant see it happening. Relying on people begin honest and when some of them will no doubt professional complainers its not going to happen.
How many of these people did the, get the turkey put it in the trolley then spend the next 2-3 hours strolling around the shop, then put all the shopping in the nice warm car and then stop off at a few more shops for a good few hours on the way home. Then when they got home realized that they had way to much to fit in the fridge and that massive turkey would never fit in, so though the cool pantry would be good enough for a day or two?
