The staff at this hospital let a dying man see his dog.

Reminds me of when our son was dying, they could not do enough for us,I hope their dying wishes come true.

Meant to add that wishes like these make our first world problems seem as trivial as the are.

Is it that unusual? My MIL was in hospital for a while and on the odd occasion my FIL was allowed to bring their dog into the ward.

I just agree with the title of the thread. Bless 'em all.
There will always be bad experiences of course but what a huge task they have to perform for so many people and for so many who are so often ungrateful.

I haven't seen pet visits in hospitals yet but the hospice that my dad was in had several dogs visiting every day . Most were pets of the patients but a couple were visit dogs that came in to sit with anybody that would like a cuddle .

My mum spent the last few months of her life in both Salisbury hospital and the hospice, and even without taking into account the recent events they were amazing so helpful and compassionate. I can not speak highly enough of them.

Animals are so complicated , we have so much yet to understand about them .
I have a friend that suffers blackouts and eventually realised that his dog was giving him a warning of an episode before he felt the first symptoms. His dog has now gone through the system to become an assistance dog . The dog is already a star of stage and screen and an ambassador for her breed .
A suprise for many to see an Akita perform such roles .
