Can't help but feel someone born in 1900 wasn't the last known survivor of the 19th Century.

On the positive side the position was instantly filled by a new world's oldest person.

Interesting question.

If you regard 1900 as the first year of the 20th century, then 100 was the first year of the 2nd, so 1BC was the first year of the 1st century AD.
If you regard year 1 AD as the first year of the first century, then 1901 was the first year of the 20th.
Unless of course there was a year zero.
When did people first start using the AD year numbering?

Does that mean we celebrated the millennium on the wrong night?

According to some estimates - the "worlds oldest person" dies, on average, every 6-9 months........

I don't know, it just seems cruel to keep resuscitating her.

They should keep the new one under close scrutiny as someone is clearly bumping them off with impunity.

I've seen enough CSI to know that serial killers stick to their own race so probably asian and the lack of suspicious circumstances would suggest poisoning so also a woman. That should narrow it down a bit.
