Wasn't sure whether to put this in Holidays & Travel, Health Matters, or Speed, Plod & The Law. Whatever, I can't believe that Paris has brought back the bad old days of the pissoir with a new design that will appeal even more to the exhibitionist.

There are hundreds of these things all over Bruges at the moment. I was there a fortnight ago, and they weren't there, but this weekend, they'd sprung up all over the place.

Got to feel sorry for any females in Paris from now on. Don't they have indecent exposure laws in France?

The Walkabout in Shepherds Bush had these about 15 years ago, slap bang in the middle of the pavement on a busy road.

I think they're a great invention, everywhere should have them.

Suppose it’s one step forward from peeing in a shop doorway, so many of those are occupied by the homeless, very inconvenient.

Yep - I have seen those many times in UK cities - usually associated with events.

I'm sure Watford had these that sunk into the ground during the day time, and raised out at night ready for all the student night outs.

Good idea I thought.

Yeah they do, they also have the same in Farringdon in London near meat market , for a while I couldn't work out why sometimes they were there and sometimes they weren't, took me a few a years to realise they are actually sunk into the ground lol. Also used to have them in Amsterdam.

When we bought our cottage in France (11 years ago!) we had some work done. The electrician turned up, walked up to our hedge and started peeing in it! In front of my mother.

Then offered to shake hands nono

Remember the Victorians? They used to construct these quaint little buildings that contained toilets in them, some of them were handily built underground so they were out of sight. I can't remember what they're called, 'pissy stty disposal drains' or something like that. Here's a few photos to give you an idea;
