There isn't much good news about these days, so it's nice to see things like this:

The fact that the tenner was still in place when the crew came out is if anything even more amazing than the initial gesture.

Great.

It says 'anonymous' but surely it's whoever drive they parked over that's written the note? laugh

And why bring up they were blocking their drive?

I reckon they were making a light-hearted reference to other folk who have not been quite so charitable about having their drive blocked.

Sounds like BS to cynical old me.

If I was the owner of the house and wanted to gift them something, I'd think to myself, well an ambulance won't be parked for hours on end, so I'll just keep a look out and spot them coming back and just give them a tenner and thank them for their efforts face to face.

Perhaps they had to go out so didn’t have time to wait for them to finish.

If they were on an urgent call and needed to go to hospital, how would the person wanting to gift them the money know? And if the Ambulance personnel had to say thanks but they were busy and with a patient, how well would that go down etc?

This was the best way of doing it, imo.

There's a Facebook group thingy called Emergency Services Humor which has run lots of stories of tts complaining like fk and leaving offensive notes on emergency vehicles because they were delayed by 30 seconds. This is just the reaction to it.

It was staged by Simon Harris of the Southend News Network, one of a number of spoofs he's fooled a lot of the more, should we say, gullible, FB'ers with. Looks like some PH'ers are equally easily taken in biggrin

https://www.facebook.com/southendnewsnetwork/

He has a couple of other pages, filled with stuff like this. He's had Barclays fooled, as well as the BBC now, along with many others.

No - he staged a photo of a tenner and a note a few weeks ago. The BBC report is of a different note..

Ah, OK, so he can take no credit for it at all then. Must have been a sheer coincidence that someone else came up with the idea.

My mistake.
