I wonder how much that nonsense at Gatwick will end up costing?

It’s pretty clear there was never a drone, quite amazing how these rumours can spread.

I’d expect lots more in the future.

There was never a drone?
You should have mentioned that in the original thread....

Not stopped plans to require registration (plus fees no doubt) in November.

Expect more drone incidents during summer/autumn to gain public backing

I don’t think anyone mentioned it...

Why don't they just have turrets that shoots down anything flying in the area?

Is it really though? I used to think the same, but then flat earthers and anti-vaxxers became a thing.

This is what happens when the village idiot gets on the internet....

Do you want daily updates on them saying "investigations are on going but we have at this time got no further information" then?

Not daily but it’d be interesting for me to see some follow ups.

The police stated in the media that they'd found the drone and were conducting a forensic examination. How many months ago was that now? And still no pictures of it? Not suspicious at all... rolleyes Obvious BS is BS.

Maybe Derek Smith can bring us up to speed as he's clearly clued up on the matter after informing us all that "the police have the right person" when Paul and his mrs were arrested. rolleyes

When do you normally get your pictures from police investigations?

This from a FOI request made to Sussex Police in relation to the drone incident.

Dear Sussex Police,

BACKGROUND
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/12...

Police defend Gatwick drone investigation as they refuse to rule out theory that it never existed

REQUEST:
Please supply all images of the Gatwick airport drone in flight.

This does not mean some broken thing you found on the ground.

Yours faithfully,

Gary C

Also, when do papers ever print follow up stories?

The 2 week news cycle has rolled around and now they're more concerned with which celeb has the latest drug habit.

I rent a commercial building to a company that calibrates camera lenses which as it happens is not a million miles from Gatwick.

They also hold various courses for amateur and professional photographers to include drone flying. Those particular courses are taught by retired police officers who are trained to use drones (they are now working for the police as consultants costing the taxpayer a fortune!).

I asked if there were any drones at Gatwick........all I got was 2 sets of eyes rolling and facial expressions which gave me the distinct impression there were no drones.

Don’t shoot me I’m only the messenger but you can draw your own conclusions from what I have written.
