If you sign up you're an idiot...

If you can't find it elsewhere without a proxy, you're just not trying

If you really need a proxy, better that than paying for it

In these days if you really need to pay for it, there's something really wrong with you, or you've too much cash and are lazy!

I've been thinking about this for years - are there any good free ones?

Does it still have "Turbo mode" as that can be used to get around various ISP blocks (So I've been told [cough] )

I am still not entirely convinced they will follow through with it. Plus, from what I've seen, there are still question marks over sites such as Twitter, Reddit etc. Which are not predominantly pornographic, but do have plenty of material on there. Then of course what about sites that educate on sex?

The so-called "block" is pathetically easy to get around too.

Once again, this Government is proving how pathetic and out of touch they are.

I've been in Spain for the last month, Czech Republic before that.
Cost approx £1.50 a month.
No noticeable effect on streaming etc.
YouTube ads are interesting as they are country based.

Take care using free VPNs.

If something is "free", it means you are the product.

As of today, desktop Windows Opera v60 does, and Android Opera Beta v52 does.

It's also very easy to configure sites you want to bypass the VPN so you can still have localised searches and news.

After a (very) brief search: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/setupvpn...
Anybody tried it?

Surely the consequence of this is to drive people towards Tor / VPN services, who otherwise wouldn’t be using them, making monitoring and restricting access to content more difficult.

Unless that is the intention, followed by restrictions on these services.

We will become a laughing stock as it will not achieve what the bleating masses believe it will achieve. Whatever that may be?

Basically sweet F-all in the grade scheme of things. But on the plus side it will costs a fair wack in implementation and keeps a few MP's and civil servants in panel expenses and wages?
