Cashless Monopoly on its way.
Discussion
Saw this and shuddered slightly.
Part of the thrill ( when I last played Monopoly on wet days as a child in 1970) was the accumulation of a pile of banknotes and the lovely feeling when someone landed on one of your properties with a Hotel and counted out the cash!

Inevitable progress or sacrilege?

I’m sure this isn’t new. The voice thing might be but I’m sure I played a version where everyone had bank cards and the banker would take your card and pop it in a reader to add/remove funds.
It isn’t new, been around for a few years. You need different tactics to cheat....Previous said:
How long until the Bitcoin one?
It would be chaotic. The price of rent would change between landing on the property and reading the card. Also all you would have to do to win/cheat would be to blackmail or threaten the other players up until they gave up their bitcoin passwords.

We have the electronic card and bank machine version as well as the paper money version.
The electronic one just isn't as much fun for some reason.
The two games are actually quite different. We got the card version a while back and didn’t like it to be honest. The original is far far better. The electronic one just isn't as much fun for some reason.

I hope it includes situations like the need to recall the 3rd 5th and 6th character from at least 10 randomly generated passwords 3 times a day, your PC being out of date, having your bank account emptied by Chinese hackers, or the need to spend 30 minutes in a queue on the phone to a call centre in India to sort it out

HASBRO launched a cashless version some 10 years or so ago.
A non news story.
But it doesn’t stop toymakers trying to get column inches.
