They should charge the boy with 2000 volts. That'll stop him!

A girl did this at my high school that I was due to attend 6 months later. I don’t think very much was really done to her other than exclusion. We got a new sports hall and theatre out of the insurance.

I'm surprised that the fires can get so big at schools, most schools have half decent fire alarms that are linked to monitoring systems that will call the fire service.

It happened twice in the 1970’s at the school I attended, it caused quite a lot of damage which is surprising given that it turns out it was mostly built of asbestos.

No more pencils no more books
No more teacher's dirty looks yeah
Well we got no class
And we got no principals
And we got no innocence
We can't even think of a word that rhymes
School's out for summer
School's out forever
My school's been blown to pieces

While that is the model answer, we would also have accepted "Be chrool to your scuel".

Well, most if not all school now have dual com fire alarms so probably this planet?

Response times aside the main problem is the nature of a lot of 60's schools and the amount they have been bodged over the years

Dysfunctional child destroying the only place where he experiences discipline, shortly before a new school year starts too - hardly surprising these days.

(I blame the parents).

It's in Scotland - the new term started a week ago.

The boy was turned in by his parents.

One thought just occurred to me - the locus of the fire, and the main part of the school that was destroyed, was the special education unit. I wonder if that's significant.

I work around the corner from the high school, I hadn't heard his mum turned him in. But the local lads here did point me in the direction of his mothers facebook before it all went private. As council as they come, 5 bairns, a Gran at 40 odd. The usual birthday card pish posts about being a mum and not turning your back on the child, followed by her followers sending love.

The family is in for a hard time, especially when the pupils find out they now will be getting the bus to Grangemouth.

Happened to my school around 1995. We ended up having lessons in portacabins that year.

The kid even responded to his mum’s post - from wherever he was locked up - to tell her that he loved her. She responded to tell him that she loved him too and she hoped he could get a good night’s sleep lol.

I'm hearing from the local fifers, the lad took a gas canister from his back garden, lit that flung it on the roof.
