Cyclist headbutts pedestrian

Probably some sort of nutter. Couldn't see what the lights were, not that it really matters. No words no foreplay straight to a full on headbutt. Nutter.
It looks to me like the pedestrian had a green light as you can see a light at the bottom going out towards the end of the video, plus he appears to gesture towards the lights when confronted by the nutter. (In more ways than one)Smollet said:

Rule one if some angry person gets too close is raise your hands. Not aggressively, just put your hands somewhere near your face as if stroking your chin. Easier said than done when it counts I know.

i just posted in the other forum it was a crap headbutt. if the person butting draws their head back, even slightly, prior to the headbutt they haven't got a clue what they are doing. could see that coming a mile off with ample time to punch him prior to it landing or lower your own head and just lean into it, breaking his own face (easier to do if you are a short arse).Rule one if some angry person gets too close is raise your hands. the only reason it worked is i suspect the bloke on the receiving end was like most decent minded people and had never been involved in a physical confrontation in his life.
the bloke on the push bike will do that to the wrong person one day and end up splattered.

No thanks, that section of the forum is full of cyclists can do no wrong, as an example a selection of comments - Seti said:
He had got off his bike so was actually a pedestrian when he head-butted the other pedestrian.
So not really news or worth discussing.

So should it be pedestrians that wear helmets then

I know that he was taken by surprise, but the pedestrian really made a meal of being headbutted and falling dramatically over.

Some people aren't cyclists, they just have a bike.

The bike is incidental to the incident.

person crossing the road clearly never checked the road was clear otherwise they wouldn't have been suprised with a close pass by the cyclist. no sympathy.

YEAH BUT WHAT ABOUT THE DRIVERS???
To be fair, how often on here do you see someone say drivers should be crushed under a tipper truck? There is a whole thread devoted to bad driving caught on dashcams. Yet I don't see posters making sweeping generalisations about motorists.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
