I know, another Brexit thread.

However, given that Boris has been forced to ask for an extension and yet he maintains his position that 'We will leave on 31st'

I am now seeing a heavy advertising campaign 'Get ready for Brexit on 31st' on all TV channels, radio, and billboards this has ramped up heavily.

Does he know something we don't?

I hope he is antagonising 27 EU leaders.

You know that type of thing.

No. IMO It's all part of his plan to have parliament bail him out whilst allowing him to be tough talking. Like when your mates drag you back to "save" the other guy from a pasting because you're such a beast.

Would be interesting if the EU refused an extension though. Blaming other for your own woes works both ways I'm sure.

Boris is currently negotiating a 1bn bung each to the Hungarian, Italian and Polish governments, along with preferential points access for 10yrs on our immigration policy and an assurance not to raise tariffs on goulash, kielbasa and dolmio to veto an extension wink

As we are one of the 26, can't we veto our own request? Or does the request itself count as a vote?

We can veto our own request yes. However we won’’t

A deal beckons, all will be well. We will leave on the 31st.

I've noticed a lot of "Prepare for brexit on the 31st" ads on radio and TV lately.

I was interested to find many of the matrix signs on the motorways over the last few days with messages about "paperwork may change on the 31st. Prepare for brexit" or similar.

Yep, they advise that the paperwork may change from 1st November - very helpful when no one has any clue yet what it may or may not change to...

Genius... on a par with the Government 'information' leaflet sent to every household just prior to the purdah period before the referendum... expect the usual remainer frothing...

I reckon plan A is to leave on the 31st and fight an immediate General Election after delivering the Brexit Party's manifesto. Plan B is to be forced to extend and fight a People vs Parliament election with a Farage deal.

I'm going with plan A because plan B seems more problematic because Parliament appear to have no intention of letting there be a General Election while they think they'll all be kicked out.

The Italians wouldn't even serve Dolmio in their prisons, and I think that tells you all you need to know about this red gloop in a jar.

I think there is a 52% chance we'll leave on the 31st Oct.

On balance probably not which to be honest is a good thing - all these issues with Brexit has consumed out politicians and the country has been able to pretty much run itself without too much interference from government.

I could quite happily put up with another five years of this - it hugely entertaining seeing them do everything they can to respect the result while trying their absolute hardest to reverse the result whilst respecting it.........

Yeah I actually amazed there is still any car related traffic on this site wink
