Guy doing 72 in 30 kills when he had 25 points on his licence!

MoJ ball up lead to this guy still having a licence and go on a kill!

Not that it matters in regards to the scrote that crashed into them but how many people were in the zafira he crashed into?

You would have thought the error would have came to light on at least one occasion they were adding points on his licence.

More than 10,000 drivers have 12 or more points yet are still allowed to drive.

“The most points on a valid licence belong to a 44-year-old woman in Oxfordshire. The licence has 51 penalty points.”

“Almost 100 motorists were still allowed to drive despite having at least 24 points on their licences....”

What would be the explanation for this? Doctor on call?

Could be a "process error" like this? I'm sure the bulk are people with 12-15 points who say they need to drive their elderly mother to chemotherapy appointments every week, but this case proves there are going to be many who have got away with it... somehow!

Info here :

'Most points remain valid for three years from conviction, but stay on licences for four years, which is why so many drivers have a high number of points but are allowed to be on the roads.'

'Exceeding the speed limit can lead to three to six points as can using a mobile phone at the wheel.

Someone who drives above the legal alcohol limit would get 10 points.

Up to 11 points can be put on a licence for drug driving and these stay on licences for up to 11 years.'

Even if banned previously, from his record, I would bet on him continuing to drive

The real crime here, is making sense of the BBC reporting....

BBC said:
Drivers who incur 12 points within three months usually face a minimum driving ban of six month

It’s not the speed that killed them, it was the impact/driver/tyres/conditions/brakes etc etc etc

When you read the back story, it makes you think that the van taking him to prison needs to got all MH370 with only the driver and guards being found later unable to recall anything.

This guy has never and will never contribute to society in the slightest.

RIP to the victims in this case.

ETA, if the max sentence is 14 years for Death by dangerous, why has he only got 9? He deserves nothing for admitting it, he can hardly deny it, FFS. How much more of a bellend do you have to behave / drive like to get 14?

Absolutely. The outcome would have been the same if he’d been obeying the 30 limit.

5 minutes of research should explain all

Try a mandatory 12 month minimum disqualification period for driving over over the limit for a start

How do these people get insurance, at any price?
I've got a Yamahahahahaha R1 and several times when I've rang up for quotes they've asked - before any other details - what the bike is and when told have said they would be unable to proceed unless my licence is clean (which it is).
