Wouldn’t be surprised if the media bites on this particular hook...

Indeed: I reckon they’ll be all over this if it gets traction.

Obviously just idiots spoiling for a fight and Brexit was the first thing that popped in their head, as an excuse to piss on the victims.

Bizarre.

I've just tried to find the original tweet and can't.

Alt-right propaganda?

It was off FB.

Chamonix is actually known for having some nasty local yobs / thugs. So it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s real. Either way; Brexit won’t be a motivating factor; just being used as an excuse to beat up a Brit.

Ahh, yes, found it now.

Still don't believe it's unprovoked!

How on earth would they know he was a Brit?

Unless he was acting like a Brit abroad in Chamonix, removing any doubt over his nationality, therefore a kicking is what was deserved.

If you knew some of the locals... you might believe otherwise.

Anyway, as I say; I very much doubt it was because of Brexit. They were just spoiling for a fight.

You will find xenophobia whenever you go. My brother's tyres were slashed in France while staying with friends. No other cars were damaged and the only thing remarkable about his car was the English number plate. It was certainly the opinion of his hosts.

Every country has its tts.

doesn't surprise me from the French, I'll never go there again because the way they treated me whenever I've been, beyond rude and arrogant

I've never had any issues with the French, Germans, Italians, Austrians, Czechs, Portuguese, Spanish etc., etc.

Some people, however, manage to attract trouble.

Might be that you’ve just been lucky to avoid any tts. Might be...

There are tts everywhere, as stated. France isn’t unique in that respect.

I’m sure no one would believe me that we didn’t provoke them, but these French guys came up to us, and as soon as we replied in English one of them starting pissing on us. Zero provocation.

I had lived in France for the last 9 months and the racism has gradually been getting worse.

I have the French police telling me that I can be jailed for my private group Facebook post, and they were NOT interested in helping.

I’m back in Scotland, and will be persuing this with the British consulate.

I’ll be fine! I can see again (thankfully) and there shouldn’t be any lasting damage smile

If this is true, it's not racism. It's xenophobia.
