Anyone else following hurricane Lorenzo?

I have family in the Caribbean so was watching this system on the National Hurricane Centre from when it came off the African coast.

The have been really impressive in predicting the track because at one point it was very similar to other hurricanes which have ripped through the middle of the island chain.

The current predicted track is here https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at3+shtm...

I'm particularly interested because the Met Office says a gentle breeze for my part of the south east at arrival time based on the NHC predictions.

I'm not expecting anything like 1987 but I'd be surprised if it wasn't a lot windier than the Met Office thinks and also a lot wetter, which is normally the main problem with weather systems like this.

Interesting, when I looked a couple of days ago they were predicting it would skim off the top of Ireland, now they are saying direct hit ( and by the looks of it a direct hit as a hurricane, not TS or depression), then a right turn Clyde across the centre of Britain.

Im right in the middle of the track and my forecast says the same, bit of rain and a breeze

A few days ago I saw a chart with two possible paths, one right off the top of Scotland, the other heading through the Channel, looks like it's splitting the difference!

The Netweather.tv forums are very busy for everything UK weather related, they have a nice thread:

I’m in Devon and we’re ready for a direct hit of a gentle breeze and a light drizzle.
