Woman climbs into lion enclosure at Bronx Zoo

It's not the first time this has happened, but, surely the woman has some mental issues. And in the new norm, it all gets filmed and put on social media, while no-one, it appears, attempts to call the police (not a lot they can do in this situation really I suppose). No indication in the article if the woman was questioned by zoo authorities.

I remember seeing a lion in a zoo. I didn't climb into its enclosure because I'm not a fking idiot.

I was there a few weeks ago.

That video is deceptive, the wall is very low but what you can't quite see due to the angle of filming (except for a shadow), is that there is a pit about 20ft across and 20ft deep between her and the lion. Recall there is also some very thin electric fence type stuff on the lion's side, about 10ft in, presumably to discourage it from going to close to the edge of the drop or attempting a jump.

Still a stupid thing to do mind.

No guarantee of being any safer, they may be extra tall vegetarians, but they can also be pretty dangerous, there is a number of youtube clips of lions being kicked to death.

wernt said lions dressed for dinner and trying to marinate and then bbq the giraffe back legs before being kicked? if said stupid person sat near a giraffe and didnt try to num num it I would wager the giraffe would have slincked off somewhere else in the enclosure to do something more interesting.

As no doubt, if the Lion did attack her as it's in it's nature, it would be the lion that pays with it's life.
