Four Seasons Care Homes
Discussion
Interesting comments on this.
You have to wonder how anyone can mess this up. The ammount of money coming their way a month must be staggering. Minimal outgoings, food is crap, staff on minimum wage, captive audience etc. I always thought this would be a licence to print money.
Are these type of buildings really 'rented' or is there some kind of circular LTD company setup that rinses the other of cash etc, therefore creating debt to be written off??

A bit OT I know, but their overheads are even less than you'd think. I used to deliver flowers for the local Interflora franchise and regularly visited care homes. There are 2 locally owned by Four Seasons - virtually every time I called I was able to walk through reception, up and down corridors and circuit the whole building, calling out for anyone, not a worker in sight.
I'm pretty sure there's a legal minimum carer/resident ratio. Not at Four Seasons obviously. Hardly ever saw anyone looking after residents, it was shocking. Their wage bil is probably peanuts.

I find this usually speaks wonders of whats going on behind the scenes. My bet is that the business is being run in debt and the buildings are rented out to another shell company that 'own' them. As more profit is made the 'rent' goes up and so forth. Creating huge debt in the key business. Nobody cares as they are all making ££ and probably backed by VC.I'm pretty sure there's a legal minimum carer/resident ratio. Not at Four Seasons obviously.
