As speculation just isn't going away over how long Jeremy Corbyn will remain as Labour Leader perhaps it's only right to speculate on who should succeed him.

This is obviously seriously serious stuff but with Jess Phillips suggesting (hilariously) she would run there is a good potential for humour.

Angela Rayner. Bout time they had a woman and she's even thicker than Corbyn.

I think a radical re think is required for Labour, and they need to attract new talent at the GE in anticipation of the current glorious leaders sad departure.

I believe they should go for a dream ticket of Owen Jones and George Monbiot

It'll never happen (thankfully) But they need some of the old "New Labour" back if they want to catch floating voters.

If they screw up the next leader, I could see them being 3rd behind Libs!

I can think of worse ideas for the Labour party.

At first I read that as Lemmy.

Back on the subject, they need someone more central to appeal to the masses. At the moment they are so far left they'll get a lot of young idealist voters and the staunch Labour voters but not enough to get near a majority.

I am sure Harriet Harperson believes it is time for a wimmin to be the leader.

Perhaps Margaret Hodge or Louise Ellman ?

The reality is they need a smooth talking, minimum gaff centrist ala Blair or Cameron. I can't see them doing that though so were safe from a Labour government for a few GEs to come.

The young idealist voters will be going green or Lib Dem for the anti Brexit view. Corbyn‘s not proved himself at all and hasn’t reached the audience he was trying to captivate. A central approach is definitely needed.

Didn’t Dan Jarvis give up on this years ago. I think his wife died and he’s focusing on his family and being an MP if I remember correctly.

He’d be a great party leader though.

Probably everyone's favourite fake working class Brummie, Jess Phillips. With the pay rise it would bring she might even be able to afford a printer.

Thornbury, Abbott and Rayner in a 3 person exec committee. They could even start each meeting with "When shall we three meet again"

Who's that labour weirdo, always on Question Time, looks a bit like Rolf Harris, glasses, beard?
Kinda creepy way of talking and never shuts up. Barry someone or other.

He'd be great.

Barry Gardiner. Used to be my MP before I moved out of Brent. I met him a couple of times at local events, discussed various local issues, I thought he was an utter pillock. Well known locally for only getting his picture in the paper with the local, er, majority minorities IYSWIM.

He'd be great.
