I see Virgin Airways have decided to stop serving beef to save the planet. Do you think this is really looking for a scapegoat to divert attention away from polluting airliners. Why don't you just stop flying your planes as you sure as fk don't need the money. It is estimated there were 70 to 80 million buffalo in the USA in 1840 which were obviously causing global warming as the scientists claim. As numbers of cattle are 94million today doesn't it just come across as bks that cattle are the root of all evil destroying the planet

Airlines doing anything to "save the planet" that isn't closing their doors is laughable. Air travel must be the most polluting and least necessary form of "transport" we have.

And you are correct in that eating beef is not causing anything. Anything we plant needs (oil based) chemical fertilizers. Ruminants on grassland is the only truly sustainable form of agriculture we have.

Reducing palm oil and soy is probably sound though:

The space program does serve a purpose.

To ensure the survival of the human race - we do need to get some of us off this rock....

It might take a little time though.

Why do I think the old Airships/ Zepplins will be making a comeback in 20-30 years ( unless we crack fusion or something else )

He could piggy-back Greta to Spain for her next climate chin-wag.

Hang on, how will her minders get there?

"Virgin Atlantic is owned by the Virgin Group (20%), Air France-KLM (31%) and Delta Air Lines (49%)."

Branson has influence but not full ownership.

If Yorkshire Bank are going to be called Virgin something, does that mean there'll be no cows in Yorkshire? wobble

I always get a similar pang of irritation when I see a hotel asking you to reuse your towel to save the planet.

Hang on. You've got a 30 storey plate glass air conditioned hotel 10 minutes drive from an international airport serving lobster from one side of the planet and prime beef from the other to people who have flown 12 hours to get there, and you suddenly want to save the planet one washing machine cycle at a time?
