What ???? to ask at our hustings
Discussion
Next week its a local hustings at our town hall. Our district was Tory for 20 odd years, then 10/12 of Lib dims, then back to Tory for the last 12 odd. Both the previous long term MP's were highly thought of although the present incumbent isnt for some reason, (I like her tho). Labour wont get a look in, let alone greens or anyone else. The tory majority was around 15,000.
I have been told I have been chosen to ask a question. I obviously want the Tory MP to win again and I am not a Swinson fan at all. So my ? should be biased that way.
What should I ask?
Yes Swinsons tits are bigger if your thinking that!

Keep your question about issues in the local constituency rather than national issues, maybe?
I assume you don't need to provide the question up front so they can research an answer and it will reveal if the candidates are aware what's going on locally. They will have prepared for all the obvious NHS, Brexit, etc., questions so this might help you to decide who is worthy of your support.

Ask about what concerns you.
As the previous poster said, don't ask something they will have a prepared answer for as that will tell you nothing. Don't make it too open, but what you presumably do not want is a simple Yes or No.
What's the history of the previous incumbent? What local decision has upset you and many like you. Put the buggers on the spot. Make them commit.
They are professionals at not answering questions. If you asked them how many beans make five, they'll tell you how they've been supporting bean production. So don't expect too much as they will see this as electioneering, not as a method to inform. Make your point clear in the question. If it is impossible to get a doctor, you could ask why they don't care about the health of the population. That sort of thing.

So effectively you want to ask a soft question to make the Tory looks good? What should I ask?
You may as well ask which aspect of our gloriously booming economy they're most pleased with

I'd ask "If you weren't allowed to vote for your own party who would you vote for and why ?"
And they will dodge the question and talk about a party that’s very similar to theirs. That’s an easy one to dodge that’s day 1 how to be a politician and avoid answering questions. S100HP said:

The best question to ask any Politician these days is
When did you stop lying?
Stop or start? When did you stop lying?
