Can we talk about MMT: Modern Monetary Theory?
Discussion
This is all a bit new to me, mainly because I've had my head buried in other topics more essential to my life.
Based upon reading posts in the EU recession thread and other posts scattered over the political threads this has peaked my interest.
Certainly posts by Stongle and Digga have got me wanting to understand more about MMT.
I've read a fair bit about it but my lack of understanding of how the markets, Government bonds, repo, -ve IR loans etc operate.
This article appears to present some interesting view points.
I can't be the only one who doesn't fully comprehend the implications of these theories, and so over to a few of the experts who might be able to lay some of it out in simpler terms.
It seems pointless starting a thread without asking a question -
What's the difference between Old Monetary Policy and Modern Monetary Policy?
