Secret Ballot

When I go to vote, I give them my Poll Card, which has my name amd address on it. They then find my name on their list, against which is a four digit number. They write that four digit number on a blank voting slip, and give it to me. I vote (in a private booth), fold the slip and put it in a sealed box.

That voting slip, with that four digit number, can be easily traced back to me.

For the avoidance of doubt; I don't really give a toss, but it's not actually a secret ballot at all, is it?
