Big news in the pub world . Reverse takeover 2 huge groups, with very different business models, hardly anyone has heard of outside the licensed trade. EI pubs are mostly leased, and Stonegate managed. AFAIK ei have a pretty poor reputation almost landlords.

How's this going to change the face of pubs in the UK. There's a good chance you drink in an EI pub and didn't know.

Funny how the Wetherspoons thread attracts so much interest, but a huge licenced trade reverse takeover goes under the radar.

If it means my local gets a new carpet, a coat of paint and disease-free lavatories then I'm all for it.

I guess everybody has heard of Wetherspoons, not many will have heard of Stonegate.
