Quite a lot of good wholesome stuff but no mention of a bank holiday to celebrate our independence day surely it would be a good idea??
maybe if they think there are enough holidays already they could scrap the May day one ..
what do others think ??

Bad idea imho, it would be rubbing salt into the ‘remainers’ wounds, activate ‘the peoples’ anger at our decision of 2016.

Just read a Reuters article where John McDonnell’s response to the Queen’s Speech was to describe the government as being “out of touch”. The fking hypocrisy from this turd is utterly staggering!

You are assuming it's not going to be great I think a lot of people will claim to have been leavers in the future when we do well
and other EU members leave ...

Yep beyond parody ,sad really as we need a valid opposition for our two party system's checks and balances to work...

I can just about understand Corbyn hanging around as caretaker leader (because Tom Watson was forced out) but I cannot believe how shameless, deluded, pompous and arrogant McDonnell is to remain in his post and not resign immediately. He is the main architect of the Labour destruction with his lunatic-grade manifesto. Go now you Marxist prick.

Im with crankedup. There cannot be a national holiday to celebrate it yet, or possibly ever. The issue is so divisive.

Same reason there Nige wont be knighted for at least another 10 years, despite having basically campaigned for most of his life for an issue that it turned out the majority of people supported. It would simply cause too much unnecessary upset to too many people.

On your other point, I think it will be a while yet before we are joined outside the EU by other member states (10s of years).

no, its a great idea so long as leavers stand remainers to a drink to demonstrate their magnanimity rather than their childish gloating

Completely out of touch with the needs, hopes and aspirations of Labour Party members.

The UK electorate are no better wink

I would be very happy to provide a remainer with a glass of remainer-tear-temperature tap water in exchange for the bank holiday.

Actually thinking about it, maybe some grape juice that had gone off to match their sour grapes of the last few years.

Or worse, a pint of Carling.

ETA: only 48% of a measure of course, apparently that is all that is required.

Oh FFS.

Looks like the Liebour line for the next 5 years is going to consist of slagging off any Tory spending by saying that they were going to spend e(n) exponent more.

They have no shame.

It's a great pity that it took their loyal followers 90 years to realise this.

I didn't realise we were in a two party system, when did that change to the voting system/ constitution happen?
